A transition is triggered by something becoming problematic in your life or career. What was working before, doesn’t work so well for you, now.
That pain is an activator. It gets us looking for a solution.
However, it’s also a place we can get stuck.
The pattern goes something like this:
You are unhappy at home or at work.
You think of ways to solve the problem.
What follows are reasons why those solutions won’t work and they tend to be really believable.
You talk to friends and/or family and they’re well intentioned, but they are stakeholders and their ideas don’t really help.
You start to feel like a broken record.
There are no new answers.
The problem, solution, problems-with-the-solutions process repeats.
I call it “looping.”
You are up against you, in a closed loop of fearful stories and limitations. The “shoulds” and the “can’ts” and the inner critic start ratcheting up.
You start to feel stuck. And a little scared. And a little lonely.
It can make you forget that you are a powerful, smart, problem solver and a badass creator of amazing things.
And nobody needs that! Especially because it doesn’t have to go that way.
